Trias Energetica 2.0 voor energieneutrale woningen

Het Trias Energetica concept is een 3-stappenstrategie voor een energiezuinig woningontwerp, ontwikkeld in de jaren 90 in Nederland. Het is ondertussen wijd bekend en vormt voor vele architecten de basis voor de ontwikkeling van energiezuinige woningen.
Het omvat:
1. Beperk je behoefte aan energie zoveel mogelijk
2. Vul deze behoefte zoveel mogelijk in via hernieuwbare energiebronnen
3. Om de resterende behoefte te dekken, gebruik de nodige fossiele bronnen zo efficiënt mogelijk.

Maar met de evolutie van onze duurzaamheidsdoelstellingen kan het ook nuttig zijn om zo'n concept bij te sturen.
Recent is dan ook een Trias Energetica 2.0 ontwikkeld: een 4-stappenstrategie voor het ontwerp van energieneutrale woningen. Sleutel is: het gebruik van energie uit reststromen (komt nu op de 2e plaats).

Sustainable social houses

The leader in sustainable social housing projects in Flanders is the social housing company Zonnige Kempen in Westerlo, in the north of Flanders. It is the youngest, but most active social housing company concerning sustainable social houses. They have both new building and renovation projects.

Basis for their approach is the Trias Energetica, but they added 3 more steps in order to develop their Six Steps Approach. Quite interesting is the last step: communicate both positive and negative findings

They participate in several European research projects and European research networks and developed several demonstration projects.

Youtube is not only about funny videos and music clips. Also ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Engineers, posts videos on Youtube.

The ASHRAE video on how to achieve a net zero energy building shows in a short, but very clear way the subsequent steps you should follow to turn a typical office building into a net zero energy building. Also very clear and useful to keep in mind when designing low energy buildings. In fact, it is a video representation of the principle of the trias energetica.
