Gent in transitie?!

De stad Gent is o.a. via het Gents Klimaatverbond al een tijdje bezig om via transitie-initiatieven te komen tot een meer duurzame stedelijke omgeving. 'Gent in transitie?!' heeft deze initiatieven in kaart gebracht en heeft ze raadpleegbaar gemaakt volgens verschillende criteria (systeem, niveau, initiatiefnemer, periode, ligging en fase). Het gaat momenteel al om een 70-tal projecten. Gent in transitie?! maakt deel uit van het onderzoek van het Vlaams Steunpunt Transities voor Duurzame Ontwikkeling (TRADO).

Energy Cities' 30 proposals for the energy transition of cities and towns

In the framework of the Energy Cities' Annual Rendezvous 2012, 30 mayors from 30 European countries made 30 proposals for the energy transition of their cities and towns. With these proposals they want to showcase a collection of groundbreaking practices to the Rio +20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development.

On Transition movement

An alternative way of dealing with climate change and peak oil through local environmental and social initiatives, this is more or less what transition movement is about. It started in the UK, but it quickly spreads all over the world.
